Final vs. Finals!!

VS.

Today is my final for my bloggong class, so I thought it would only be fitting that I discussed the NBA Finals! So of coarse mt all time favorite team is the Miami Heat and we just happened to make it this year. And it's kind of ironic that our second only Finals appearance is against who we faced and defeated last time in 2006. For me I am rooting for the Heat all the way! I mean I only need to say big words to make my point, WADE, BOSH, and JAMES!! Point made. We have the more talent, athleticism, and energy. Now I won'y bash the Mavricks like some people would because I keep it professional. They do have a great team and an explosive bench. But the Heat honestly want more than they do. Dirk got hurt in game 1. He will have a battle with that splint on his finger and Kidd and Terry didn't get going behind the perimeter(threepoint line). They need to step it up if they want that shot at the title, because right now the Heat proved that they'd do anything to win this series. They have one more game in Miami and then there are three straight games in Dallas. BUT, the last 2 games are in Miami which forces them to win at least one game on the road. And honestly I don't that can be done. Now Miami has won a lot of games on the road and even won the confrence Finals on the road. So the professional side and the fan side of me are both predicting the Heat to win the series and become this years Champions. And if you don't want to take my word for it, just go here, http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2011/matchup/_/teams/mavericks-heat, and they will tell you that the Miami Heat are strongly favored to win. Take a look at this and it should influence your opinion even more.

So in this series the winner IS...the Miame HEEEAATTT!!!

Toronto Raptors

Today's team is the Toronto Raptors. They had a record of 22-60 and finished second to last in the Eastern Confrence. They recently last their star forward Chris Bosh who went to the Miami Heat (aka my team!). They completely lost all their confidence once they realized they lost Chris and didn't have any superstar on the team to take over. They had trouble just getting to the rim let alone finishing game or even keeping up in games. All 22 games they won were against sub .500 teams. They had nothing going in the whole season. It was just a waste of a season. They need to rebuild and rebuild fast. If not they are going to be drastically behind. So work some magic Toronto. If not you'll be in the dumps for a long time.

Los Angeles Clippers

Today we have the Los Angeles Clippers. As we all know the Clippers are not an elite team at all. The have one player with tremendous talent, and that person is Blake Griffin. Now the Clippers finished with a 32-50 record. Now that is better than 7 teams in the NBA, but it's just a poor effort on their part. Blake Griffin is definitely doing his part in the playing category, but no one else is stepping up to the plate. Middle way through the season they acquired Mo Williams. He was a good addition to the team because the playing style is the same. But he is aging and they know Mo won't be there for a lot of years, just about 3 years 4 at the most. But they need to have a good draft and even after that they need to add some more guards and get rid of a few centers. The are over stacked in that department and some are old. Then they need to practice hard and do good in the pre season that way they all can create chemistry with each others playing styles. I feel bad for Blake Griffin because he deserves to be on a team you actually tries to win. So don't look for the Clippers to make a drastic improvement in one off season. It will probably take 2 or 3 years. So good luck and do good Clippers.

Phoenix Suns

Today I'll be talking a little bit about the Phoenix Suns. They were not at all impressive this year. They finished off the season with a 40-42 record and not making the playoffs this year. One reason is because Steve Nash is getting a little old, but he is still the only one giving his all every night. Vince Carter was contributing until he got hurt, then they have some help from Channing Frye. But he is still new to the league and hasn't developed into a true basketball athlete yet. Also, they have Grant Hill, but he is older than Steve Nash! So he isn't going to be helping much or at all. But the do have Robin Lopez who is still working hard on getting better and he is rising fast. And at the end of the season the got Mickael Pietrus, from the Orlando Magic. He is a terrific three point shooter. If they would have received him earlier in the year they would of had a chance at making the playoffs. They need to re load on young talent on the off season. They need a young shooting guard and a young strong forward. Because once Vince Carter and Grant Hill either retire or get hurt they won't have a good one coming behind them taking their spot. Steve Nash is always ready and always in shape, so no worries on him. But everyone else needs to rest for a while then they need to practice and practice hard. Because if they want to make it to the playoffs or anywhere next season they need to work harder. if they can do all that they ave a good shot at finishing at highest 5th in the Western Conference. Good luck Suns. Your going to need it. Now please enjoy the highlights of Steve Nash's greatest moments so far.

Philadelphia 76ers

Today on my blog I'll be over viewing the Philadelphia 76ers. They finished the season 41-41 and 7th in the Eastern Conference. They started off pretty rocky and then kicked in to gear. There for a while they were so hot that no one could beat them. But then down the road they clinched a playoff spot, but unfortunately for them it was against the Miami Heat. And the Heat completely tore them a knew one. It wasn't a competition at all. But as long as they keep it up they will improve. One of the reasons they couldn't keep up with the Heat was because they are such a young team. They have no playoff experience and no one has been in a pressure situation of that nature. And 3 of their starting 5 are rookies. Just take your time Phillie and your time will be coming around the coner sooner than you think. Next year they"ll be in the top 5 of the Eastern Conference. Keep pushing hard Phillie.

Memphis Grizzlies

Today we have the outstanding Memphis Grizzlies. They became an overnight star of a team. Everybody loved them and wanted them to win. They finished the season with a record of 46-36. That may not sound like a big accomplishment, but they happened to beat the Spurs in the first round. Which they were a number 1 seed. Then they went all the way to game 7 in the second round against the Thunder. That was very impressive and remarkable. They had a star emerge in the postseason, Zach Randolph. He was just kind of known during the season, but once he had one good night against San Antonio he showed his true talent. They had a real good chance to go to the Western Conference Finals. And the good thing is, they don't have to do a thing to get ready for next season. They have all the components to be successful and someone to work around of. All that needs to happen is practice hard and stay healthy and injury free and they will be true big time contenders in the Western Conference. I would go as far as predicting them to be as high as the number 1 seed and nothing lower than the number 4 seed. They have everything in motion and in the right direction. Good job Memphis!

Washington Wizards

The Washington Wizards are horific team. They finished the season 23-59. That is just terrible. They did finish better than two other teams though. They aquired John Wall from the Kentucky Wildcats. He definitely made an impact on the team, but they couldn't get anything going productive wise. They didn't have the chemistry and expirience like other vetern teams. And it shows. John Wall did what he was brought here to do, but the rest of he team didn't get the memo. So take a look at this video and see exactly what im talking about. All what i have to say is in the proof.

Utah Jazz

This week I'll be talking about the Utah Jazz. They had a terrible season. It all started when the head coach Jerry Sloan quite mid season. That was a shocker to all. Next came the ineviditable trade of Daren Williams to the Nets. Which is what altimitally killed them. Once he was out of the line up they had absolutely no one. And i can prove it. First, in this video you'll see that they have a poor defense to begin eith. The only thing that has them winning is Williams. Also, you'll see that Williams is their WHOLE team!! Just take a look and see for yourselves. All-in-all, they should have never traded him. And then they could have had a chance a even making the playoffs. Good job Utah!

Cleveland Cavaliers

Today I won't be discussing a team that is in the playoffs, but the team with the worst record in the NBA. They finished out the season 19-63 and on a sad 2 game win streak. They of coarse didn't have King James there, so they were back to being nobody. They made an impression by winning their first game of the season against the Celtics, but it was down hill from there on out. The only reason they won 19 games was because at the end of the season playoff team were resting their starters so they were playing people their level. And even then they struggled at times. They looked hideous all the time. And the owner had nothing better to do but bash on Lebron James when he should have been focusing on his sucky team. They were the second worst team in the history of the NBA. The only highlight of their season was that they beat the Miami Heat at the end of the season when the Heat didn't even try against them. I can't even begin to start naming the billions of things they need to do to start on a good note next year. They honestly need a coach, a younger, more heart fought team that actually cares if they win or lose. And they need lots and lots and billions of hours of practice. In one word to describe what they need " MIRACLE". That's all they can hope for now. Good luck Cleveland!

Atlanta Hawks

Today I'll be talking about the surprising Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks finish the season with a 44-38 record and 5th in the Eastern Conference. They have had a sub par season, but I say surprising because they beat the Orlando Magic in a series 4-1. And now they just tied the series 2-2 with the hot Chicago Bulls whom are the number 1 seed. What helps them the best is that Josh Smith has stepped up big time. He finishes almost all the time in the paint. And he has been an amazing passer. Also, Jamal Crawford has hit those important three's down the stretch of the game. And of coarse, Jeff Teague! He has had an MVP performance every game in the playoffs. He is a spitting image of Derrick Rose. He is quick and takes it to the hole, has a smooth jumper, and he knocks down a three with ease. They are turning out to be a Cinderella team. If they play with this high of a level of a performance they could easily beat the Bulls and possibly beat the winner of Miami and Boston. All that needs to be done is to stay healthy and uninjured the rest of the post season and play like they want it. If all that happens and they don't have any off nights then they are going to be a top dog in the East.

Denver Nuggets

Today I'm discussing the Denver Nuggets. Unfortunately the big trade to acquire Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, and Wilson Chandler did not pan out the way they had hoped. They wanted to get rid of Carmelo Anthony to get these superstars and they didn't even win more than 1 game in the playoffs. It is an utter disappointment. Now that they have destroyed their season they must adjust some money and people and get the right guys for a championship team. They really need a solid point guard to set up the right plays and make the right passes. They have Felton and Ty Lawson which is OK, but Felton is one good point guard....who going to go in for him? Ty Lawson is a good pick, but he is a young player. He should be worked in before being a starter. They need a veteran point guard and save Ty for later. Well Denver, you made a terrible mistake by trading Melo and Billups. One more year together and they could have taken Denver to the Finals. Oh well, you guys will just have to make do with your decision. Practice hard and prepare for each game and work to the Finals. Better luck next time folks!

Join me next time for when I discuss the late supriseing playoff runners Atlanta Hawks!!!

New Orlenas Hornets

Today's team of discussion is the New Orleans Hornets. Of coarse when we think Hornets, we think of CHRIS PAUL! Well the New Orleans Hornets just go eliminated by the Lakers in the first round of playoffs. But the regular season record was 46-36. It's not that impressive, but to hurt the Lakers that bad in the first round for a weak playoff team is great. Chris Paul went absolutely crazy in games 1 and 3. He demolished the Lakers on his own, not counting what his fellow teammates did to them. Well they gave it a good run, but couldn't pull it out. Now what they should do is definitely take a long 3 month break, maybe 4, then sign 2 big guys for under the hoop. Then get a good draft team and work them into the rotation. Then start practice and practice hard for a championship run. And if they do that they will be a shoe in for the the playoffs and need to do work again and make sure to win each series. They got the talents and a pretty good coach. All they need to do is condition well and keep everyone healthy and out of the injury list. And if they can maintain all that and succeed in the regular season then they will be a real contender. Maybe next year Hornets.

Oklahoma City Thunder

Today's team is the dynamic Thunder! Also known as Seattle Supersonics. The Thunder are in the first round of the playoffs playing against the Denver Nuggets. They are leading the series 3-1. They originally took a 3-0 lead but couldn't finish the sweep on game 4. Now Kevin Durant has been everything and more than expected of by anyone. He has took control of the game in all 4 games. Then there is Russell Westbrook, he may be shorter than the average player, but he is an asset to the team. He averages 21.9 points a game and 8.2 assists a game. That's all star playing in the NBA. Then there is the recently acquired Kendrick Perkins who is a monster under the hoop. He has single handedly won regular season games for them. They most likely will win the series against Denver. And probably win the next series in a game 7. But if they keep up with their winning ways they will probably make the Western Conference Finals. All they need to do is make sure Durant and Westbrook are healthy and ready to win every night. And never forget these are the playoffs not the regular season, it's going to be very difficult from here on out.

WEDNESDAY MATCH UP!!

VS.

Today we have a Wednesday match-up between the Detroit Pistons and the Washington Wizards. It is a clash of the worst. They both have a not so good team, but against each other it could work out to be a real good, interesting game. On one side you have the Pistons, who have Tayshaun Prince and Richard Hamilton who have been there since their careers. And both got the talent to shoot the three or take it to the hole. Then on the other side are the Wizards. Whom recently acquired the high flying John Wall from Kentucky. He has been a major asset to the team. But the fact is the Pistons are 30-52 and the Wizards are even with 23 -59! This game will be the best of the worst! Lets take a closer look to how the game might go.

First off, it's guaranteed that John Wall is going to get his 25 or 30 points and create various open looks for Rashard Lewis who will tear you up, take you to the whole and he is hard to guard will him being able to pull up a jumper from anywhere on the court. Then Tayshaun and Richard have been veterans of the league for over 10 years so they have experience over the whole team of the Wizards. They will just have a onster game and being able to work around all the players, alley oping all over them. Well folks, in the fourth quarter it'll be 107-100 Pistons in the lead with 50 seconds left. John Wall will knock it close making it 107-105. But then Josh Howard will fumble the ball in the paint and not tie it up. That's when Ben Gordon will knock down a quick three to make it 110- 105 with 11 seconds. And then on the in bounds pass Tracy McGrady will steal it and run out the clock to seal the game. Sorry Wizards fans but the still can't keep up with the Pistons. John Wall isn't able to keep up with so much professionaltalent just yet. Maybe next year guys! And that's the game with the Pistons winning 110-105 over the Wizards!!!

Chicago Bulls

Today I'll be discussing the dominating Chicago Bulls. They have a outstanding record of 60-20. They have clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference and are looking to cause some damage in the postseason. They have never lost 3 games in a row this whole season. They have gone as long as winning 8 games in a row. They have D-Rose that just does his job at the highest level. He gets to the hole, has a great jumper, can knock down the three, and creates open looks for other potential scorers. Then there is Noah who never gives up and is tough under the hoop, boozer who is the same as Noah so they can switch and never lose talent in the paint. Then there is Korver who hits three's like it's his job! And he always seems to knock one down as a desperation three to save or tie the game. They will definitely go far in the playoffs and the already get home court advantage through it all. All they got to do is get all the starters rested up and healed up as much as possible and wait for the playoffs this weekend. So if I were the coach, I'd take out all the starters for the last 2 games and let the back-ups get some first starts because they will need to be ready to come in for a few minutes in the postseason. They just need a few extra reps. And if they play like the regular season they will have a legitimate shot at winning the NBA Finals. Join me next time when I discuss the Oklahoma City Thunder!!

Dallas Mavericks

Today we have the Dallas Mavericks. They are currently 52-21 and third in the Western Confrence. They started off real hot and then they slowely simmered down. But they are starting to pick it up here in the home stretch of the year. The regular season is coming to a close and they want to finish at least second, but they are still pushing for first. Of coarse the star is Dirk Nowitzki shooting the three, taking it the hole, and having that easy jumper over a defender. He is a good solid guy to base a team around and he is a player you can count on getting his 25 points a night at minimum. Then they got Jason Terry knocking down tons of three's, they just aquired Corey Brewer who shoots a three and a jumper woth ease, and then there is Brendan Haywood who is dominant in the paint and creates open looks for others. They just locked in their playoff birth and will get to have their chance at a run at the Finals. You never know they could GO...ALL...THE...WAAAYYY!!!! But if I were the coach I'd start resting Dirk and Haywood so they are fresh and not dragging in the playoffs. Which I am sure will happen in the next few games. Trust me people, they will have their chance and will fight to the death for their spot in the NBA Finals. Join me next time when i discuss the Chicago Bulls!!

WEDNESDAY MATCH UP!!

WEDNESDAY MATCH UP!!

VS.

Starting this Wednesday and every Wednesday to come there will be a WEDNESDAY MATCH UP!! I'll randomly select 2 teams and based on stats and current player status I'll determine a winner between them.

This week we have the Memphis Grizzlies and the New York Knicks. First off the Grizzlies have a better record at the moment. They are ahead of the knicks by 3 games. Carmelo Anthony just joined the Knicks so that gives them a better jumper and more three point shooting. Plus, Amare is dominating the paint in every game no matter what the outcome. Also, the knicks are averaging 106 points a game while the Grizzlies are averaging 100. As far as the Grizzlies, they just aquired Shane Battier from the Rockets, which will bring more offense to them. And they got Mike Conley at point and knocking down the trey, and then O.J. Mayo in the paint and getting tons of dunks and doing great on defense. Speaking of defense Marc Gasol is averaging 1.58 blocks a game. So right now if they were to play it would be real close. It might even come down to a final shot. And because of that i got to give it to the Knicks because Amare or Melo are known tio knock down those game winning shots. And the winner is.....THE NEW YORK KNICKS!!!!! They win 110 to 107, with Melo knocking down a game winning three to bring the crowd to their feet ( OOOOOO melo suunnkk the three!!! says the crowd). Just remember a good offense beats a great defense. Maybe next time Memphis!

Orlando Magic

Well today I will be discussing the Oraldo Magic. They have a 45-26 record and are 2nd in the Southestern division and 4th in the Eastern Confrence. They are locked into the playoffs with the win over Cleveland. First off, they are solid at the post because look at who the have...DWIGHT HOWARD...aka SUPERMAN!! He rarely lets down the team with an off night. Then of coarse they have Gilbert Arenas, Brandon Bass, and Jameer Nelson who can all hit up a three in a clutch time position. Then there is Hedo Turkoglu and Quentin Richardson who are two good, realiable forwards that can not only shoot the three, but can take it to the hole. Then again the Magic are definitely not the strongest team in the East nor in the NBA. But they'll have a shot at it, but it's not likely that they'll go far. Possibly the first round and thats it. They are a one and done team, but a good one and done team. If they make the proper adjustments then they'll have a better chance next year, but as for this year....just stay strong and do your best. There are too many other dominant teams that will beat them in the playoffs. Sorry Orlando but that's just how it is.
Join me next time when i talk about the hot Dallas Mavricks!!

San Antonio Spurs

San Antonio Spurs Script2 Logo By. N i c o_

Today's tream is the San Antonio Spurs. They are 51-12 at the moment, and they are first in the western confrence and number one overall in the NBA. There arn't many more improvements that they could possibly make, but one thing they seem to be doing is when a good team takes a lead bigger than 10 they get frustrated and don't focus on their situation at hand. A perfect example is against the Lakers. They took the lead by 12 and then the Spurs just got upset and comitted a foul everytime they had a chance. They dominate the whole NBA and they need to realize that they'll struggle every now-and-then, and they need to strive through that one tough game to prove that they are number one and no one can bring them down. That is what will prove that they are an elite team and that they will win when they need to. They are definitely in the playoffs and 2 easy rounds, but then will come the Western Confrence Finals and the NBA Finals. They'll be the favorite in the playoffs and everyone will enjoy to see them play.

Los Angeles Lakers

Lakers Championship Celebration By. mstickmanp

Today's post is about the Los Angeles Lakers. This season they are 43-19. And they are also locked in for the playoffs. Now this year more than ever, they have had to depend on Kobe. He has been their opener and their closer. Gasol, Fisher, Bynum, and Odum have not helped out as much as expected and needed. They can only win off of Kobe for so long then they'll start to deminish. And by they I mean Kobe. The other starters need to step up and play their roll and give their talents to benifit the team. The season is coming to an end and that means playoffs. Of coarse they are in but they wont last if they still only score with Kobe. Fisher needs to sink more three's, Gasol needs to dominate in the paint and not be afraid of the little jumper, Bynum needs to get those easy dunks and lay- ins, and Odum needs to drain those jumpers and take a three once in a while. They used to have all their talents working together and flowing at one time, but now they have fallen apart and become a worse team than they ever expected. Basically, they need to rest Kobe and the others need to step up and do their job efficiently. If they do that soon then they'll be a real good contender in the West. And even a potential threat to make the finals.

Make sure to read up next time as i discuss the San Antonio Spurs!

Boston Celtics

Boston Celtics Wallpaper v2 By st.Groove
The Big 3 at Trget Center By. jpellgen
Today's new post is on the Boston Celtics. They are currentlly 44-15. They are great in the pain and with Ray Allen with a solid 3 point shooter, Paul Pierce with a good mid range jumper and defense capability, and with Kevin Garrnet under the hoop and wonderful defense. They are first in the Eastern confrence and second in the whole NBA. They have played trhe Heat 3 times in the regular seasin this year and they seem to beat them eachtime. And that's not the only dominate team they can beat. They have beat the Lakers more than once and they have crushed the Thunder. They are in the playoffs and with a easy first and second round. The challenge will be in the third round at the Eastern Confrence Finals which I'm confident they'll be playing the Heat. And if they pas the Heat they'llcbe in a battle with either the Lakers or Spurs. Now that they are closing in on the last home stretch of the season they should start resting the big three and let them gain more energy and explosivness. All in all they are a great team and are a contender for the finals and have a bright future.

Miami Heat

Todays team will be focused on the Miami Heat. They are currently 42-15. They started of pretty rocky with a 9-8 record. But since then they have dominated the teams they have faced. People were worried that D-Wade, King James, and Bosh wouldn't have that great of chemisrty together. And that showed, but it has quickly changed around. They are locked in for the playoffs right now and they will have an easy first and second round. But then they will most likely face Boston in the Eastern Confrence Finals. That will be a test, but I am sure they will do their best. Also, not only have the big three have done great this season, but the back-ups have shown great improvement. They are a great asset to the team as well. Everyone on the team gets playing time and they all dominate the court. Frankly, the Miami Heat are going to win it ALL!!!
Join me next time when I'll discuss the Boston Celtics.
